Right Where We Are, is a song I wrote in the fall of 2022 originally coming up with the guitar part in my Mum's kitchen while my sister and I bobbed our heads to the riff on repeat from the dining room table.

The lyrics quickly took shape reflecting the acceptance of endings. The value in understanding that some things are just meant to end. That in that end, you may be fine right where you are.

This voice memo was recorded outside my apartment in St. Catharines Ontario on May 31st 2023. I love capturing ambient sounds in my voice memos and this one along with a handful of others features some harmonies from some feathered friends.

I hope you enjoy this addition to The Carpool and check out my other songs here and on streaming platforms.

Lyrics

Toe to Toe face to face
Receipts we misplace
All of my mistakes
I was a fool to retrace them
Honey I think we're fine
Right where we are

I was a fool
Such a fool to retrace them
Honey I think we're fine
Right where we are

Lights laid low chips are down
Joker wears the crown
A game of such high stakes
I was never a gambling man
Honey I'd bet we're fine
Right where we are

I was never
No never a gambler
Honey I think we're fine
Right where we are

Final stand hand in hand
Finger prints in wet cement
Through regrets I've made
I can accept second place
Honey I think we're fine
Right where we are
